AC/DC is one of the most influential and enduring rock bands in history. Formed in Sydney, Australia, in 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, the band quickly gained a reputation for their high-energy performances and hard-hitting rock sound. Known for their raw, powerful music, AC/DC helped define the sound of hard rock and became iconic with their trademark blend of blues, rock ‘n’ roll, and pure, unrelenting energy.
The band’s first album, High Voltage (1975), introduced their signature sound, with anthems like “TNT” and “It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll).” However, it was their 1979 album Highway to Hell that propelled them into worldwide fame, with songs like the title track and “Touch Too Much.” The album marked the last with lead singer Bon Scott, whose death in 1980 from acute alcohol poisoning was a turning point for the band.
After Scott’s passing, AC/DC recruited Brian Johnson as their new lead vocalist and released Back in Black (1980), which became one of the best-selling albums of all time, featuring hits like “You Shook Me All Night Long” and the title track. Back in Black cemented its place in rock history, with its anthemic, anthemic riffs, and memorable lyrics.
Over the following decades, AC/DC continued to release albums that achieved both critical and commercial success, including For Those About to Rock We Salute You (1981), Flick of the Switch (1983), For Those About to Rock We Salute You (1981), and The Razors Edge (1990). Their music became synonymous with hard rock, and the band developed a dedicated fan base that spanned generations.
