Born on August 25, 1949, in Haifa, Israel, Simmons—whose birth name is Chaim Witz—has had a profound influence on rock music and popular culture, becoming an iconic figure known for his flamboyant persona and business acumen.
Simmons was born to Jewish parents, Feri Witz and Flora Klein, who immigrated to Israel from Hungary. When he was eight years old, Simmons and his mother moved to the United States, settling in New York City. Growing up in a modest household, Simmons faced numerous challenges, including cultural adjustment and financial difficulties. However, he found solace in music and began to cultivate his passion for performing.
