American actor, voice actor, producer, and director Hank Azaria is well-known for his outstanding work in theater, television, and cinema. Azaria was raised in a Jewish household with Greek and Hungarian ancestry after being born in Queens, New York, on April 25, 1964. Both his father, a former garment manufacturer, and his mother, a school teacher, had an early effect on his love of the performing arts.
Azaria acquired a liking for performing and refined his comedy skills in school plays while he was a student at the Bronx High School of Science. He pursued further schooling at Connecticut’s Wesleyan University, where he earned a degree in theater. Azaria began his career in comedy and television after graduating from college and relocating to Los Angeles.
Azaria became well-known in the early 1990s as a star of the popular sketch comedy program “MADtv.” His distinct talent was demonstrated by his ability to develop distinctive personalities and imitate a variety of superstars. But it was his work on “The Simpsons” that made him a household name. He began working on the program in 1990 as a voice actor, lending his voice to several well-known characters, such as Chief Wiggum, Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, and Moe Szyslak.
