Jenny Gago attended UCL (University of California, Los Angeles) to get her bachelor’s degree in the performing arts. She attended the world-famous Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, which is known for its method acting approaches, to further refine her skill. Gago was able to build a solid acting career in film, television, and the stage because of the extensive training she received.

Beginning in the late 1970s, Gago appeared in film and television. Among her early credits are guest spots on hit TV dramas including “General Hospital,” “CHiPs,” and “Hill Street Blues.” Through these positions, she was able to raise her profile and get valuable work experience.

Jenny Gago portrayed the part of Fabiola Escalante, the encouraging wife of Jaime Escalante (Edward James Olmos), in the 1988 film “Stand and Deliver,” which was her breakout role. Critically acclaimed and showcasing Gago’s knack for depicting nuanced, emotionally engaging people, the film was based on a real story of an inspirational high school math teacher who motivates his disadvantaged pupils to achieve great things.
