Joe Flacco is a veteran American football quarterback known for his strong arm, leadership qualities, and his role in securing an NFL championship. Throughout his career, Flacco has played for several teams, most notably the Baltimore Ravens, where he spent the majority of his career and became one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in franchise history. His resilience, calm demeanor under pressure, and clutch performances in key moments have defined his career.
Flacco was born on January 16, 1985, in Audubon, New Jersey, to Karen and Steve Flacco. He grew up in the small town of Haddon Township, New Jersey, where he showed early promise as an athlete. Flacco attended Audubon High School, where he was a standout football player. During his high school years, he was recognized for his physical abilities, particularly his strong arm and deep passing accuracy, which would later become his trademark in the NFL.
Flacco continued his football career at the University of Delaware, where he played for the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens. After transferring from the University of Pittsburgh, Flacco spent two seasons at Delaware, where he quickly established himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). In his junior year, he led Delaware to the FCS national championship game and earned numerous accolades, including being named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year. His performance at Delaware caught the attention of NFL scouts, and he declared for the 2008 NFL Draft.
