The son of Nigerian parents, John Adedayo Bamidele Adegboyega was born in London, England, on March 17, 1992. His stage name is John Boyega. Before leaping the silver screen, he was a stage veteran. The part of Finn in the science fiction sequel trilogy of “Star Wars,” which included “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” (2015), “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” (2017), and “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” (2019), brought Boyega immense notoriety.

His portrayal in the legendary series catapulted him to superstardom on a global scale. Boyega debuted his feature film in the 2011 sci-fi comedy “Attack the Block” before starring in “Star Wars.” His portrayal of Moses, a boy who fights off extraterrestrial invaders in his town, earned him great praise. Other than his role in “Star Wars,” Boyega has featured in several films, including Steve McQueen’s “Small Axe” (2020), “Detroit” (2017), and “Pacific Rim: Uprising” (2018).
