John Mulaney, born on August 26, 1982, in Chicago, Illinois, is an American comedian, writer, actor, and producer, best known for his sharp wit, unique comedic perspective, and ability to craft hilarious, observational humor. Mulaney’s blend of clean humor, storytelling, and precise delivery has made him one of the most successful and respected stand-up comedians of his generation. He has also gained recognition for his writing, particularly for his work on Saturday Night Live (SNL), where he became one of the standout writers and performers of the 2010s.

Mulaney grew up in a middle-class family in Chicago, where he attended St. Ignatius College Prep, an elite Catholic school. His parents, both of whom worked in law, instilled in him a love for language and communication. He later attended Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where he studied English literature and developed his passion for comedy. During his college years, Mulaney began performing stand-up comedy at open-mic nights around Washington, D.C.
