Lauren Daigle was born on September 9, 1991, in Lafayette, Louisiana. Growing up in a close-knit family, she was raised in a Christian household that played a significant role in shaping her faith and musical interests. From a young age, Daigle showed a passion for music, often singing in church and participating in school choirs. She faced health challenges during her childhood, including a prolonged battle with a severe illness, which deepened her reliance on her faith and her love for music.
Daigle’s musical journey took a more serious turn in her teenage years when she began writing her songs. She honed her craft while attending church services and engaging in various music-related activities. After high school, she attended LSU (Louisiana State University) to study child and family studies but soon shifted her focus to pursue a music career. In 2010, Daigle moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where she began to gain traction in the contemporary Christian music scene. She participated in a songwriting competition at a local church, which led to opportunities to collaborate with established artists and songwriters in the industry.
Lauren Daigle’s big break came in 2015 with the release of her debut album, How Can It Be. The album featured hit singles like “First” and “How Can It Be,” which received significant airplay on Christian radio. The album showcased Daigle’s soulful voice, heartfelt lyrics, and ability to connect with listeners on a deep emotional level. How Can It Be received critical acclaim, earning Daigle a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album.
