Peter Parros came into this world in Brooklyn, New York on November 11, 1960. Parros grew up in two cities—Salt Lake City, Utah, and Los Angeles, California—and always had a passion for the stage. His acting career benefited from the exposure to other cultures that came from his varied upbringing. He began his acting career in the local schools, where he was an active participant in school plays.

Beginning in the early ’80s with little parts in movies and TV shows, Parros gradually built a successful career. After landing the role of Dr. Ben Harris on the hit daytime drama “As the World Turns” in 1984, he finally broke through. He became famous after playing the role of the caring doctor, for which he received praise.

One of Parros’s most recognizable roles was that of David Harrington on “The Haves and the Have Nots,” a prime-time soap drama that aired on the OWN. After its 2013 debut, Tyler Perry’s program quickly rose to the ranks of the network’s most popular shows. Parros gained international renown and a devoted following for his portrayal of the sly and merciless David Harrington.

“The New Adam-12” (1989–1991) was a reboot of the iconic police drama, and Parros had previously featured as Officer Eddie Gordon on that show. On the CBS daytime drama “One Life to Live” from 1994–1995, he was also a major player as Dr. Ben Price.
