He was born on November 29, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri, and went on to become one of the most notable players in the NFL during the 1970s and early 1980s.

Roger Wehrli attended the University of Missouri, where he played college football for the Missouri Tigers. A standout player at the university, Wehrli was known for his athleticism, intelligence on the field, and ability to shut down receivers. He played for the Tigers from 1965 to 1968 and quickly became recognized for his skills as a cornerback and punt returner. His college career culminated in an All-Big Eight selection in 1968, and he was later inducted into the University of Missouri Athletics Hall of Fame for his contributions to the team.

Wehrli became a key player for the Cardinals, earning 40 career interceptions and 9 touchdowns over his career. He was particularly known for his ability to break up passes and make timely interceptions, and he was consistently a top performer on a defense that was often one of the league’s best.
