Stanislav Ianevski is a Bulgarian actor best known for his role as Viktor Krum in the Harry Potter film franchise. Born on May 16, 1985, in Sofia, Bulgaria, Ianevski spent much of his early life in various countries, including England and Israel, which exposed him to diverse cultures and languages. His international upbringing and charismatic presence paved the way for his entry into the world of acting.
Stanislav’s acting career began serendipitously when he was discovered by casting director Fiona Weir while attending Mill Hill School in London. He was invited to audition for the role of Viktor Krum, the Bulgarian Quidditch champion and Triwizard Tournament competitor, in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005). Despite having no prior acting experience, Stanislav impressed the filmmakers with his natural charisma and striking on-screen presence, earning the role.
In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Stanislav’s portrayal of Viktor Krum brought the character to life as a reserved yet confident athlete with a tender side, particularly in his interactions with Hermione Granger (played by Emma Watson). His performance made him a fan favorite and solidified his place in the hearts of Harry Potter enthusiasts around the world.
Following his success in the Harry Potter series, Stanislav appeared in the horror film Hostel: Part II (2007), directed by Eli Roth. He played Miroslav, a supporting character, showcasing his ability to take on roles in genres outside fantasy.
