One of American actor Allan Kayser’s most famous roles was that of Bubba Higgins on the hit comedy “Mama’s Family.” Kayser made his acting debut in the 1980s and shot to fame as Vicki Lawrence’s charming but dimwitted grandson Bubba. He was born on December 18, 1963, in Littleton, Colorado.

When “Mama’s Family” was in its second season (1983–1984), Kayser became a cast member. Adapted from a regular comedy on “The Carol Burnett Show,” the program chronicled the antics of the Harper family, with a focus on Mama, the gregarious and opinionated matriarch. Allan Kayser proved himself as a rising talent in television comedy with his charismatic performance as Bubba, which garnered him a devoted fan following and solidified his position as a comedy superstar.

After his breakout on “Mama’s Family,” Kayser kept busy in film and TV, but his portrayal of Bubba will always be his claim to fame.
