American actor, director, producer, and ex-professional football player Fred Williamson was born on March 5, 1938, in Gary, Indiana. Known as “The Hammer” during his time as a football player, Williamson went on to have a prosperous career in show business, where he continues to make waves in the cinematic and athletic worlds.
