George R.R. Martin, whose given name is George Raymond Richard Martin, came into this world in Bayonne, New Jersey, USA, on September 20, 1948. This American author is well-known for his epic fantasy novel “A Song of Ice and Fire,” the basis for the smash hit HBO series “Game of Thrones.” He also writes short stories.
