Known for her work on stage and cinema, Janis Paige has been an iconic American actress and singer for over seven decades. Paige, whose birth name was Donna Mae Tjaden, was born in Tacoma, Washington on September 16, 1922. She had a passion for acting from an early age. A Warner Bros. talent scout spotted Paige in the late 1930s when she won a talent competition. This launched her career. She debuted in the film industry in 1946’s “Gilda” co-starring Rita Hayworth, after signing a contract with the company.
