Josh Holloway is an American actor and producer best known for his role as James “Sawyer” Ford in the critically acclaimed television series Lost (2004–2010). Born on July 20, 1969, in San Jose, California, Holloway grew up in Georgia, where he developed an early interest in movies and storytelling. After attending the University of Georgia briefly, he left to pursue a modeling career, which took him to Europe and led to his eventual discovery as an actor.
Holloway made his acting debut with guest appearances on television shows such as Angel and Walker, and Texas Ranger before landing his breakthrough role on Lost. His portrayal of the rugged yet complex Sawyer earned him widespread recognition and several award nominations, including a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Ensemble Performance in a Drama Series.
Following Lost, Holloway starred in other television projects, such as the sci-fi series Intelligence (2014), where he played a high-tech intelligence operative, and Colony (2016–2018), portraying Will Bowman, a former FBI agent navigating a dystopian, alien-occupied Los Angeles. His film credits include Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011), where he played Trevor Hanaway, and Sabotage (2014), alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger.
