One of American actress Lauren Tewes’s most famous roles was that of Julie McCoy on “The Love Boat.” Tewes, who was born on October 26, 1953, in Braddock, Pennsylvania, started acting in the 1970s and became famous for her role as the charming cruise director.

In 1977, Tewes landed her breakout role as the kind and competent cruise director Julie McCoy in the film “The Love Boat.” Tewes became famous overnight because of the smash hit series, which chronicled the amorous and humorous exploits of a luxury cruise ship’s guests and staff.
