The 15th of June, 1951 saw Steve Walsh being born in St. Louis, Missouri, in the United States of America. The Kansas City metropolitan region was his home when he was growing up, and he had an early interest in music, especially rock & roll. Walsh started polishing his musical talents under the influence of bands such as The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. He concentrated on singing and playing keyboards at this time.

At the beginning of the 1970s, Steve Walsh, together with other musicians Kerry Livgren, Rich Williams, Robby Steinhardt, Dave Hope, and Phil Ehart, was one of the five individuals who established the band Kansas. The band Kansas immediately became well-known for its distinctive progressive rock style, which included elements of jazz fusion and classical music in their overall composition. To create the band’s characteristic sound, Walsh’s distinctive voice and piano skills were an essential component.

With their early albums, such as “Leftoverture” (1976) and “Point of Know Return” (1977), Kansas was able to gain both financial success and critical praise. On these albums, Kansas released smash songs such as “Carry On Wayward Son” and “Dust in the Wind,” both of which went on to become fixtures on classic rock radio and cemented the band’s position as one of the most influential progressive rock bands of the period.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Kansas produced several other albums, further solidifying its position as a significant figure in the history of rock music. The dynamic stage presence and vocal range of Steve Walsh led to the band’s exciting live performances, which resulted in the band gaining dedicated fans for their music all over the globe.
