Having spent her formative years in Brooklyn, New York, Sierra Lucas came into this world on December 12, 2000, at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center. Even at an early age, she was putting pen to paper. Her mother passed away in a hit-and-run accident when she was twelve years old. Her brother hit her in the mouth when she attempted to gain entry to her residence when she was sixteen years old, leaving a scar on her lip.

She got her stage name from the scar. While she lived with her aunt and uncle, Lucas claimed that they mistreated her. Foster care and the final eviction from her aunt’s home meant that she spent a lot of time in institutions and foster homes, going to locations like Coney Island and Pennsylvania.

Her fondness for rapper DMX sparked her interest in music, and she released her first rap video online in 2018, which became an internet sensation the following year. Starting in 2019, she recorded her first single “Therapy” and two more, “Suicide Awareness” and “Foster Care,” in 2020.ScarLip’s 2022 song “Glizzy Gobbler” became a TikTok meme sensation, propelling her to stardom.
