Norwegian professional golfer Viktor Hovland rose to fame shortly after his birth on September 18, 1997. Hovland has quickly risen to the ranks of the PGA Tour’s most promising young players, thanks to his extraordinary skill and remarkable accomplishments so far.

Although he spent his formative years in Grimstad, Hovland was born in Oslo, Norway. He got his start on the golf course at an early age and became a promising junior sensation in Norway. U.S. college recruiters took notice of Hovland’s abilities, and he ended up enrolling as a golfer at Oklahoma State University.

While enrolled at Oklahoma State, Hovland had a banner year as a golfer. He won several tournaments on an individual basis and was an integral part of the university golf squad that won many team titles. Hovland cemented his status as one of the world’s best amateur golfers in 2018 by winning the U.S. Amateur Championship.

Hovland went pro in 2019 after a stellar undergraduate career, and he immediately established himself on the PGA Tour. In February 2020, in just his third professional appearance, he won the Puerto Rico Open, giving him his first PGA Tour title. His victory cemented his status as the first Norwegian winner on the PGA Tour.
