Baseball great Wesley Ray Helms entered this world on May 12, 1976, in the United States. In his thirteen years as a professional baseball player, Helms suited up for four different teams: the Phillies, the Marlins, the Braves, and the Brewers. His primary positions on the field were first baseman and third baseman.

In addition, Helms oversaw the Chicago White Sox’s Triple-A club, the Charlotte Knights. Tommy Helms, his uncle, was a Major League Baseball player from 1964 to 1977. While drafting Major League Baseball in 1994, the Atlanta Braves took Helms in the tenth round.

On September 5, 1998, he debuted with the Braves in the big leagues. The Braves sent Ray King to the Milwaukee Brewers on December 16, 2002, along with John Foster and Helms. In his debut season with the Brewers, he made 67 RBI and hit 23 home runs. Unfortunately, he hurt his knee while playing against the Montreal Expos.
