Scott Fellows, a music producer, and Nickelodeon came together in Los Angeles, California, to develop Big Time Rush. The four Minnesota hockey players chosen to create a boy band are played by Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Carlos PenaVega, and Logan Henderson.

Nickelodeon debuted Big Time Rush in 2009, exposing the band members to an international audience. The sitcom chronicled the four lads’ fictitious adventures in Los Angeles as they dealt with the music business, friendships, and romantic interests. With four seasons and more than 70 episodes, the show was a smashing hit.

Launching their music career in tandem with their television success, Big Time Rush released their first album, “BTR,” in 2010. Popular singles from the album, such as “Boyfriend” and “Big Time Rush,” contained energetic pop music. The ensemble wowed audiences on several tours with their high-energy shows and well-choreographed dance moves.

The music of Big Time Rush was a smashing success, reaching the top of the charts all around the globe. The RIAA awarded them a Gold certification for their first album, which reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 list. “Elevate” (2011) and “24/Seven” (2013) were two of their subsequent albums that did well financially and were well-received by reviewers.
