One of the most prominent figures in American television, David E. Kelley has made significant contributions as a writer, producer, and creator. Kelley is widely considered to be one of the most accomplished and successful television writers of his time; he was born on April 4, 1956, in Waterville, Maine.

After starting as a lawyer, Kelley quickly shifted his focus to television writing. From 1986 until 1994, he was a writer and producer for the legal drama series “L.A. Law,” for which he won several Emmys for Outstanding Drama Series. His work on “L.A. Law” demonstrated his talent for developing intriguing legal-themed characters and plots.

Following the popularity of “L.A. Law,” Kelley went on to develop and produce other highly regarded television shows, often combining aspects of humor, social criticism, and drama.
