The American manager, booker, and former professional wrestler Dutch Mantel goes by the ring name “Zeb Colter” in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) brand. Wayne Maurice Keown came into this world in Jacksonville, Florida, on November 29, 1949. In and out of the ring, Mantel has been an integral part of the professional wrestling industry for decades.

In the 1970s, Mantel started wrestling for several regional companies throughout the US. Opportunities with bigger wrestling companies presented themselves as he became known for his skills both in and out of the ring and on the microphone.

In the 1990s, Mantel was a prominent figure in the wrestling industry as a manager and commentator for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE). While working as “Uncle Zebekiah,” Mantel oversaw the careers of wrestlers such as Jacob and Eli Blu, better known as The Blu Brothers, and Justin “Hawk” Bradshaw, who would eventually become known as JBL. He was a notable character in the WWF because of his unique Southern charm and entertaining promos.

Mantel was successful not just as a manager, but also as a booker and creative consultant for several wrestling outfits. He was instrumental in the success of the companies where he worked by developing and executing narratives and character arcs.
