In Chicago, Illinois, Flozell Jootin Adams came into this world on May 18, 1975. In Hillside, Illinois, he was a standout football player at Proviso West High School. Adams resumed his collegiate football career from 1994–1997 as a member of the Michigan State Spartans. Among the best offensive lineman in college football history, he was named to the All-Big Ten team while playing for Michigan State.

The Dallas Cowboys added Flozell Adams to their 1998 NFL Draft roster in the second round. From 1998 to 2009, he was a member of the Cowboys throughout his entire NFL career. Because of his towering stature, immense power, and long career, Adams became one of the best offensive tackles in the league very soon.

While playing with the Cowboys, Adams established himself as a rock-solid member of the offensive line, protecting quarterbacks like Tony Romo, Troy Aikman, and Quincy Carter from harm. He was so reliable and dominant at tackle for the Cowboys that they selected him to the Pro Bowl five times during his tenure there.

Flozell Adams played with the Pittsburgh Steelers for a single season in 2010 after his release from the Cowboys. Even though the Steelers lost to the Packers in Super Bowl XLV, he was an integral part of their run to the championship. Adams’ 13-year NFL career came to a close after the 2010 season, and he retired from professional football.
