Jessica Marie Garcia came into this world in Orlando, Florida, USA, on March 23, 1987. She had a nurturing upbringing and an early interest in performing because of her supporting family. Despite all that came her way, Garcia never wavered in her pursuit of a career in show business.

Garcia went on to study drama at Valencia College in Orlando after finishing high school. She began her professional acting career in college, where she was an active participant in theater plays and worked to refine her acting abilities.

Garcia started her acting career with little parts in movies and TV shows. “The Prodigious Mr. Hickey” (2010) was her first feature film role. When this ended, she began making cameo appearances on TV programs including “Huge” and “Disney’s Liv and Maddie.”

Garcia kept trying to get parts even after she had a string of rejections early in her career. Casting directors took notice of her ability and perseverance, which opened doors to bigger chances for her.

In 2018, Garcia landed her breakout role on Netflix’s original series “On My Block” as Jasmine Flores. Jeremy Haft, Eddie Gonzalez, and Lauren Iungerich developed the sitcom, which follows a group of friends from high school as they face the difficulties of being teenagers in a violent inner-city area of Los Angeles.
