Born on October 2, 1978, British politician Matthew John David Hancock was in the cabinet and paid the salary of the paymaster general from 2015 to 2016. From January to July 2018, he was secretary of state for digital, culture, media, and sport. From 2018 to 2021, he was secretary of state for health and social care.

He first entered politics in 2010 and serves as the MP for West Suffolk. He was once a whip in the Conservative Party, but since November 2022, he has been sitting as an independent in the House of Commons. The software firm was Hancock’s family business when he was born in Cheshire.

He attended Christ’s College, Cambridge, for his Master of Philosophy in Economics, and Exeter College, Oxford, for his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE). Before becoming George Osborne’s chief of staff and senior economic advisor, he worked as an economist at the Bank of England. As a first-time candidate, Hancock won the seat of West Suffolk in the 2010 election.
