When the Calgary Flames moved their American Hockey League club, the Adirondack Flames, to Stockton in 2015, it became the Stockton Heat. The Stockton Arena is the team’s home field. The Calgary Flames’ prospects play for the Stockton Heat, the team’s American Hockey League affiliate.

If a player shows potential and talent in the American Hockey League, the Calgary Flames may bring them up to the NHL. The Stockton Heat’s principal role is to foster the growth of its players.
