Leading American pastor, theologian, and writer Timothy Keller came into this world in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on September 23, 1950. Not only is he well-known for his perceptive works on Christian religion and society, but he was also the founding pastor of New York City’s Redeemer Presbyterian Church.

Keller completed his education at three different seminaries: Westminster, Gordon-Conwell, and Bucknell University. He was a minister in many places before starting Redeemer Presbyterian Church in 1989. Some of those places were Hopewell, Virginia, and West Hopewell, Pennsylvania.

During Keller’s tenure as pastor, Redeemer Presbyterian Church saw remarkable growth and gained a reputation for upholding traditional Christian principles while actively participating in the city’s intellectual and cultural pursuits. In the Reformed tradition, the church was instrumental in establishing a network of congregations.

Although he is most known for his pastoral work, Timothy Keller has written extensively on many issues including Christianity, culture, and apologetics. Among his best-selling works are “The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism,” “The Prodigal God: Recovering the Heart of the Christian Faith,” and with “The Meaning of Marriage: Facing the Complexities of Commitment with the Wisdom of God.”
