Silsbee, Texas is the site of Dante Wesley’s birth on August 18, 1979. From 1998 until 2001, he was a member of the Arkansas State Indians (now the Red Wolves), a collegiate football team at Arkansas State University. Thanks to his speed, agility, and ability to set up his teammates’ plays, Wesley became one of the team’s most valuable defensive backs.

The 2002 NFL Draft saw the Carolina Panthers choose Dante Wesley in the fourth round. He played special teams and cornerback for the Panthers when he first entered the NFL. Because of his speed and tackling prowess, Wesley became an invaluable member of the special teams shortly after joining.
