As the bass guitarist and sometimes keyboardist for the iconic British rock band Queen, John Deacon is most recognized for his many accomplishments in the music industry. In 1971, guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor convinced Deacon to join Queen. Deacon was born on August 19, 1951, in Oadby, which is located in the county of Leicestershire in England. It was at Chelsea College in London that Deacon received his education in electronics before he joined Queen.

The basslines that Deacon was responsible for in “Another One Bites the Dust” and “Under Pressure” are among the most recognizable basslines in Queen’s repertoire. His contribution to the band’s sound was significant. Additionally, he was the songwriter behind a number of the band’s most successful songs, such as “You’re My Best Friend,” “I Want to Break Free,” and “Spread Your Wings.”

Even though he was considered the most reserved member of Queen, Deacon was an essential contributor to the band’s success, both in terms of their musical output and economic success. His skill as a songwriter and his ability to create melodic basslines contributed to the formation of the band’s distinctive sound, including rock, pop, and opera elements.

Throughout the whole of Queen’s long career, Deacon maintained a consistent presence, taking part in a multitude of recording sessions and touring performances. Nevertheless, Deacon progressively became less involved in the music business with the passing of Freddie Mercury, the legendary vocalist for the band Queen, in the year 1991. Although he did make a few appearances in public, he preferred to avoid the limelight as much as possible.
