Monique Gabriela Curnen came into this world in Framingham, Massachusetts, USA, on September 7, 1970. Her parents’ varied backgrounds contributed to her multicultural upbringing; her mother was of Puerto Rican heritage and her father was of Irish and Italian ancestry. Curnen sought for chances to appear in school plays and community theater productions after developing a strong enthusiasm for acting at an early age.

Curnen went on to Dartmouth College to study theatrical arts and develop her acting chops after finishing high school. She continued her education and training as an actress by earning an MFA from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.

At the beginning of her acting career, Curnen appeared in stage shows, both on and off Broadway, with regional theater groups. She received praise for her performances in plays written by famous authors, showcasing her flexibility and brilliance on stage.

As a guest star on series like “The Education of Max Bickford” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” Curnen made her television acting debut in the early 2000s. As her portfolio and reputation grew, she also made appearances in indie films.
