In 1961, the American League added the Los Angeles Angels as an expansion club. In their first season, they used Los Angeles’s Wrigley Field. In their second season, they moved to Dodger Stadium. After changing their name to the California Angels in 1966, the club moved to Anaheim.

The Anaheim Angels were one of their many names over the years; in 2005, they changed it to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The Los Angeles Angels became the official name of the franchise in 2021. Anaheim, California’s Angel Stadium is the site of the Angels’ home games.

Their home since the stadium’s inauguration in 1966, the venue is often known as Angel Stadium. With its ability to hold more than 45,000 baseball fans, the stadium has seen several additions and restorations over the years. In their existence, the Angels have only won the World Series once, in 2002.

The squad, coached by Mike Scioscia and including talents like Garret Anderson, Troy Glaus, and World Series MVP Troy Percival, won their first and only World Series after a dramatic seven-game series against the San Francisco Giants. Several Angels alumni have received Hall of Fame inductions.
